Utopian world

Hình ảnh
Imagine a utopian world without technology. Write a story about it. Technology is a ginormous word. It involves not only electrical devices, telephones, cars,..., but also ANY methods or systems that are used for practical purposes. This also means that in my utopian world where there is no technology, human do not even know how to use rocks to make fire, make shelters out of leaves or create any devices from the nature to serve their life. Without any methods of cooking or classifying food, human cannot absorb nutritions to their body, so human would be very tiny and skinny. In this world, other animals take over control. "As the sun shows up, people are awaken with the bright sunshine. They stretch and start a new day, after a cold night sleep. They start the day by hunting for food. Each family splits up to different directions, to the great forest. Some find coconuts, lime while others capture fish, and eventually they all have a full meal together. They store some food for th...

Chefs & Fashionista

I think that the two chefs' inspirations are their experiences from traveling/ exploring nature and their passion as well. They travelled to different places and explore the nature, and the culture there, then bring their own experience, view, thoughts, and feelings to their dishes. In other words, I feel like the chefs want the customer to travel with them as they are eating.  I feel connected to Thom Browne as he is also inspired by the basic in life: SHAPES. He imagined the triangle, rectangle and circle as dresses and faces. From these basics shapes that everyone knows, he created such great clothes and styles, and I think he also encourages equality for both women and men as well.

Lighting

This is my favorite picture throughout the process. The lego characters are placed as if one is trying to hurt the other. I love how the red lighting corresponds and increases the tension of the scene.  Here are other pictures:

Twyla Tharp’s “Creative Autobiography”

Twyla Tharp’s “Creative Autobiography”  This is a great reflection exercise that puts you in touch with your own creative experiences.  Please answer the following questions:  1. What is the first creative moment you remember?  - I remembered the time I was sitting on a piano and tried to play a kid's song I knew.  2. Was anyone there to witness or appreciate it?  - There were my grandparents and my mother that witnessed.  3. What is the best idea you've ever had?  - I used to think of creating artificial islands ( although there are already artificial island but I did not know), where airplanes can land on them. 4. What made it great in your mind?  -  I was very proud of my idea, since I believed it would be much easier and safer for people with heart diseases or mental diseases to travel to countries far from where they live, if airplanes can land on these islands every several hours.   5. What is the dumbest idea?  - My...

The Dance of Freedom (Egg)

Hình ảnh
For the first 3 stages, I roll my body around to a specific direction as if I'm trying to reach an end and fall down to the ground, so my shell can break. When the shell breaks, I slowly stand up, with my hands gently spread out as I escape my shell.

Reflect on Creativity

REFLECT: I believe that the two activities "DAT creativity" and "The little prince" both reflect our creativity or creative thinking.  In  the DAT creativity, I need to write nouns that are as different as possible, while in "The little prince" exercise, I draw a random shape that I think of, then think further what random thing could be inside the shape. Both exercise requires me to think about a lot of things that are different of each other, and so that I know how far can I know about things around me.

Walking the Space

Blog post due before class: Reflect on the "walking the space" exercises and the 5 senses walk. Pick out 1) something interesting you noticed for 4 of the 5 senses, 2) a contrast you noticed, 3) a pattern you noticed, & 4) one surprising thing.  1/  Sound: I heard the sound of sneakers, shoes, and talking very clear when going inside, but I could not hear them well when going outside.   Smell: The air outside has the smell of gas from cars, dust and so on, while the air inside is stuffy.  Sight: It is easier to observe objects when going outside. Touch: I can feel the roughness and smoothness of different objects.  2/ I felt the smoothness of the piano, which I remembered is made of wood, but when I go outside and touch the tree, I can feel the roughness.  3/ I noticed the pattern of the ball stop barrier net, which has a square pattern.  4/ One interesting thing that I remember is that the second when I went inside, the sound of wind, ...

Who are you as a creative person?

Hình ảnh
Who are you as a creative person? A creative person does not need to be an artist or pianist, he or she just might be a normal person adoring and admiring the creativity and art of other people, and that's who I am. I saw plenty of amazing artworks on social media and in some galleries. Looking at these beautiful works makes me feel admiring as well as enhance my creativity, and that makes a creative person.  Simple, Childish, Geometric, Abstract These pictures are my first digital paintings in the past, and for me it reflects how creative or how curious to trying new things I was as a small child. Furthermore, these paintings reflect my personality as well. These paintings were created out of the basic shapes in our life such as circle, square and oval, and that is why I used two words, "Simple" and "Geometric", to describe how simple and uncomplicated they are. Likewise, I tend to try my best to make my every tasks and problems seem uncomplicated and easy to...
